It started with the search for the perfect jumper
Knitwear London began the way a lot of good things do — out of a small frustration. We couldn’t find everyday knitwear that felt genuinely well made: soft enough to live in, warm without the weight, and built to last longer than a single winter. So we set out to knit it ourselves.
A calmer kind of wardrobe
We started with a single cardigan and a clear brief: the softest lambswool we could find, a relaxed fit that flatters, and an undyed palette drawn from the wool itself — cool ecrus, marled greys and dark Jacob browns that never shout.
No trend-chasing, no cutting corners — just the kind of knits we genuinely wanted in our own wardrobes.
Frustrated by knitwear that pilled, lost its shape or never felt quite worth keeping, we began sampling yarns from mills known for their softness and durability.
Our debut cardigan launched to a small community — and sold through faster than we imagined. The feedback was unanimous: “I never take it off.”
Knitwear London is a growing collection of cardigans, sweaters and accessories, worn by thousands — still designed in London, still made to the same standard.
Considered, always
We grow slowly and deliberately — adding pieces only when they earn their place. As we expand, our promise stays the same: warmth without the weight, a considered fit, and knitwear worth keeping.
